Registered Osteopath with experience in the diagnosis, treatment and pain relief of musculo-skeletal problems and the rehabilitation of sporting injuries.
Steve Mangan is a Registered Osteopath (GOsC) and a member of the Institute of Osteopathy (iO). He is also a British Medical Acupuncture (BMAS) trained Acupuncturist.
Steve treats a wide range of musculoskeletal problems ranging from both acute and chronic low back and neck pain, shoulder, hip and knee problems in addition to acute and persistent sports injuries. His patient's ages range from young children through to the elderly and include many elite international sportsmen and women including professionals across a range of sports including football, golf, rugby, tennis, boxing and polo. His treatment methods allow for a return to pain free movement in the shortest possible timeframe.
In addition to hands on treatment, Steve aims to educate his patients, allowing them to self manage their condition using simple exercises and by offering occupational and postural advice which is invaluable in keeping them injury free and preventing further problems developing.
He has developed a strong network of local health care practitioners including GP's and consultants and if required can arrange for imaging such as MRI and Ultrasound quickly. He is also actively involved in local health care issues and is a member of the patient and public panel for Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trusts.
He is registered with most major health insurance companies.
Osteopathy is distinct because it recognises that much of the pain and disability we suffer stems from abnormalities and weaknesses in the structure of the body in addition to damage caused to it by disease.
