How can Steve's Hip Triage Clinic help me?
Following your assessment Steve will make one of the following recommendations:
Everything will be fine, with no need for a further visit or follow-up.
Steve will provide lifestyle advice on what to do. This may include a follow-up appointment at 3, 6 or 12 months for reassessment. There will be an option to see an in-house specialist physiotherapist for strength and conditioning advice. Exercises will be provided.
Steve will recommend imagery such as X-ray, MRI or Ultrasound to determine the problem.
This will include a letter to the patients GP for NHS referral or the option of a private (fee paying) imagery if required (MRI/Ultrasound).
*If appropriate, there may be an option of a cortisone injection for your hip problem. This can be performed at Raleigh Park Clinic by our Extended Scope Physiotherapist.
In addition to hands on treatment, Steve aims to educate his patients, allowing them to self manage their condition using simple exercises and by offering occupational and postural advice which is invaluable in keeping them injury free and preventing further problems developing.
He has developed a strong network of local health care practitioners including GP's and consultants and if required can arrange for imaging such as MRI and Ultrasound quickly. He is also actively involved in local health care issues and is a member of the patient and public panel for Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trusts.
